Ten Things of Thankful!

thankful

As I sit here in my living room with nothing but the Christmas tree illuminating the room and the tranquility of pure silence I reflect on the weeks events and all that I am thankful for. I am continuing my journey  to remaining positive and I feel so much better and at ease than I did just a week ago.  It is not always easy to remain positive and upbeat but I think  once you get in the habit then it is easier to be that way.  So now on to what I am thankful for.

1. Evaluations are complete! Yep I have written and sat down with fifty people to go over work performance and it is never something that I enjoy so its a good thing that it is over for an entire year!!

2. Christmas music! I just love it sound of Christmas. It is always so uplifting and celebratory that you can’t help but get in the spirit after awhile.

3. The hubby’s paychecks have all been corrected so we can go shopping for the kid’s Christmas!!

4. Potty training! It has been so nice to have three potty trained kids. No really it awesome!

5. Mini me is going to have n ENT Consult for her frequent throat infections. I am so ready for those tonsil to come out and we finally got the go ahead to see the specialist and begin the next steps to make that happen. No mom likes to see their kids get sick so much and she has been very sick lately.

6. The Zoo lights! It’s our thig evry year to take the kids and emoy the Christmas lights at the zoo! They even had a reindeer ice sculpture there. It was pretty cool except it was melting pretty quickly since I live in the southern hemisphere and it isn’t cold enough to keep that thing ice!

7. Good margarita’s and friends. I went with two friends after work last night for dinner and drinks and we had a blast laughing and sipping on our margarita’s! Sometimes you just have to take some me time and that’s exactly what I did!

8. Ballet! I took Sassy to Ballet this week and enjoyed being able to watch her dance. They performed a tap number for us and she was adorable!

9. Amazon Prime! Since I am late in the game shopping this year it has saved my hide 🙂

10. Last but not least is Coffee Date with my Buddy! I took him to get a hair cut and an afternoon treat afterwards. A Latte for myself of course and Snowman Sugar Cookie for him! The smile on his face made the day one of my favorites.Brendan's cookie

I am a wife of ten years, mom of three, Nurse and student! My household is quite chaotic and busy. With a six year old going on sixteen. we shall call her "Sassy", a four year old, who is stubborn as a mule, she shall be called " mini me", and a one year old, we will call "Buddy". Our girls do Ballet, and our son, well he is all boy! Very curious and always getting in to something. When we found out we were having a boy i laughed and said " god must have known we needed a little less diva in our life," Ha, little boys are quite the handful! I love my kids with all of my heart, and i love my job too! As a nurse leader i get to see many sides to healthcare and help encourage and guide new nurses. I love taking care of patients and being able to have grown up talk and then come home to my babies. The house is usually chaotic with lots of tantrums, and messes, but i wouldn't change it for a bit. On the rare occasion that i am able to have some spare time to myself, i like to read, bake and decorate cakes, and take pictures of my kiddos. Time to myself is rare so i decided to start this blog to have a creative outlet and connect with other working moms, who might be going through the same situations as myself. I hope you enjoy my thoughts and stories as a mom, student, wife and Nurse! These stories will range from Diapers and tutus to meetings and boardrooms! and everything that falls in between. Enjoy and thanks for visiting my site.

  1. So frustrating to jump through the hoops to get the referral to get the thing you need. The kid had Tubes. It took a lot longer than I would have liked for us to get over there.

we don’t have a zoo to go to but we do have a place we go each year. It is one of my favorites

    1. I am an inpatient person by nature so to have to wait for anything is so completely frustrating.
Isn’t it nice to have a ritual each year where you go and even though it’s the same each year it is just so special? We love the zoo lights and although a bit over priced it is just so special for us to go with the kids 🙂

  2. Over FIFTY?!?!? Ohhhhmigosh! That’s a lot. Such a relief to have them DONE! Yowwwzer!

I swear I read that your husband’s pancakes had all been corrected…there’s a *possibility* I might be tired…

So glad you had a nice time out 🙂

  3. Number #4 times a million! We’re close to Done with Diapers over here too and I cannot wait! That said, Zoo lights sound amazing! And Margarita’s and an evening out? Always good for the soul.

    Sounds like a great week!

    1. Louise it was an awesome night with coworkers. We were celebrating evals being complete! A night out with actual adults, a margarita followed by a night with the kiddos and Hubby! what more can a girl ask for! oh yeah no more diapers that is what 😉

      1. Completing 50 evals certainly also sounds like something worth celebrating! A night out with adults and then home to toilet trained kids? You’re living the dream!

  4. No more diapers means no more lugging around a diaper bag!
I love watching little girls in dance class! My daughter danced for nine years. She gave it up last year for volleyball, and I miss watching her. I DON’T miss the expense (costumes, lessons, competition fees,etc.).

  5. I love Christmas music, too. It plays pretty much constantly in my home from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas Day.
Love that look of delight on your son’s face!

  6. I am loving the Christmas music this year – and I don’t always. But yes, I really am!
Potty training feels like a prison release, doesn’t it? Congratulations!
We also saw lights at our Zoo this weekend – it was the first time they did it. It was wicked crowded, but we had a great time. There is something so magical about holiday lights!
    Have a wonderful week!

    1. ours was really crowded this year too! it is not usually so bad but we had to wait in line to get in this year, it was insane! Still a ton of fun though 🙂
