Ten Things of Thankful

thankful

It’s that time of week again where I discuss all that I am Thankful for! I have been really enjoying these posts as it helps me feel gratitude in the midst of some of the most stressful times of my life! Let me in on a little secret… It is working!

This week I have felt happy, appreciative and thankful.ย  A feeling that I have not felt in recent months so it was high time I focused on the positive! Without further ado:

I am thankful for my job! As stressful as it can be, I really do enjoy making a difference and being a leader to my team! They have shown great strength and have grown with a certain project by leaps and bounds!

My kids and husband… This will be on every week as they help me get through the hard times. I danced with my Son last sang along to the radio to Last Christmas and he smiled and laughed so hard it was infectious. I am pretty sure he was laughing at my awful singing voice but who cares.. We had fun!

The ability to help others – My team and I sponsored a classroom of underprivileged kids and brought presents and treats to them today! We danced to Shake it off by Taylor Swift, ate cookies and sang Christmas Carols. The smiles on their faces will stay with me forever! wpid-2014-12-19_19.05.36.jpg

Pizza!!! – okay this one is simple but hey, it makes me happy

Presents – 5yo present that I had to order from Target made it here on time! the only one thing that she really wanted was sold out at store and I received free shipping from target and it made it!!

A night out – The hubby and I get to go to dinner with his brothers and sisters tomorrow night while the mother in law watches all the grandkids – it’s a yearly tradition and one that I love!

Simplicity – When you make the simple complicated that’s when stress begins.. Here is to me Keeping it simple and enjoying doing it.

Compliments – I was asked twice this week if I had lost weight!! I really have not but It’s better than being asked when my due date is!!!

Quiet nights at home with the family – Right now we are watching The Polar Express while eating snacks and winding down from the week! It is calm, at least for the moment.wpid-pex13_logo-hrz_350px.jpg

I am a wife of ten years, mom of three, Nurse and student! My household is quite chaotic and busy. With a six year old going on sixteen. we shall call her "Sassy", a four year old, who is stubborn as a mule, she shall be called " mini me", and a one year old, we will call "Buddy". Our girls do Ballet, and our son, well he is all boy! Very curious and always getting in to something. When we found out we were having a boy i laughed and said " god must have known we needed a little less diva in our life," Ha, little boys are quite the handful! I love my kids with all of my heart, and i love my job too! As a nurse leader i get to see many sides to healthcare and help encourage and guide new nurses. I love taking care of patients and being able to have grown up talk and then come home to my babies. The house is usually chaotic with lots of tantrums, and messes, but i wouldn't change it for a bit. On the rare occasion that i am able to have some spare time to myself, i like to read, bake and decorate cakes, and take pictures of my kiddos. Time to myself is rare so i decided to start this blog to have a creative outlet and connect with other working moms, who might be going through the same situations as myself. I hope you enjoy my thoughts and stories as a mom, student, wife and Nurse! These stories will range from Diapers and tutus to meetings and boardrooms! and everything that falls in between. Enjoy and thanks for visiting my site.

  1. Singing and dancing with a child while he giggles is the best. Who cares if we can actually sing or not? ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s remarkable how routinely doing a thankful list helps make each week better. I guess it’s a bit of finding what we look for. I’m glad joining in is helping you, too.
    Have a wonderful Christmas!

  2. It does work, doesn’t it? It doesn’t keep stressful times from coming, but it does help frame situations in a better light.
    Merry Christmas!
