Counting my Rainbows

” Count your rainbows and not your thunderstorms” – author unknown

A phrase that is sticking with me for the duration of well forever. Today I decided to count my rainbows and what a wonderful day is was! Starting with a pajama dance party while listening to shake it off by Taylor Swift! I truly do not believe it is possible to be in a bad mood and listen to that song! So we danced and laughed as we made pancakes!

Then as the kids began to fuss a little I said “Let’s go outside!” Mini me has been cooped up for over a week since her surgery and it was time for some fresh air!ย  Buddy and mini me had so much fun on the swing set! I hope to keep those smiles etched ย in my brain forever. But just in case Alzheimer’s hits at some point, there are plenty of photographs to remember the occasion!

Joy! We just had pure sweet and simple joy! I was able to play with my children. To hell with the household chores! A mountain of laundry who cares! The best part was no phone calls! Sad to say but work would have called or texted me a that point and ruined my mood! See there is a rainbow in this situation somewhere!

“Look Momma!” mini me says as she hands me some picked flowers, these are for you! I think my heart melted. They were the most pitiful looking things you had ever seen and were probably some form of weed as my lawn is not exactly a well manicure one, but they were from her and I loved them!

Eventually 7yo came out and joined in on the fun! She was too cool at first but then she joined in and how cute were they all on the swing together! It has been a long time since I have laughed like that and allowed myself to just relax.

While it’s hard not to worry about the future, this moment. It’s the only one we have! My new year’s resolution was to enjoy simplicity and that’s what I am going to do! No more thunderstorm’s in this girls forecast only rainbows! Bright glowing ones that hopefully have a pot of gold at the end!

My very own pot of Gold right here!

I am a wife of ten years, mom of three, Nurse and student! My household is quite chaotic and busy. With a six year old going on sixteen. we shall call her "Sassy", a four year old, who is stubborn as a mule, she shall be called " mini me", and a one year old, we will call "Buddy". Our girls do Ballet, and our son, well he is all boy! Very curious and always getting in to something. When we found out we were having a boy i laughed and said " god must have known we needed a little less diva in our life," Ha, little boys are quite the handful! I love my kids with all of my heart, and i love my job too! As a nurse leader i get to see many sides to healthcare and help encourage and guide new nurses. I love taking care of patients and being able to have grown up talk and then come home to my babies. The house is usually chaotic with lots of tantrums, and messes, but i wouldn't change it for a bit. On the rare occasion that i am able to have some spare time to myself, i like to read, bake and decorate cakes, and take pictures of my kiddos. Time to myself is rare so i decided to start this blog to have a creative outlet and connect with other working moms, who might be going through the same situations as myself. I hope you enjoy my thoughts and stories as a mom, student, wife and Nurse! These stories will range from Diapers and tutus to meetings and boardrooms! and everything that falls in between. Enjoy and thanks for visiting my site.

    1. Yes it really was! I think it was her way of thanking me for taking car of her this past week! My kids rarely say I love you, so this action spoke much louder than words ๐Ÿ™‚
