Give me an extra shot of Expresso Please!!!!

If we were having coffee I would have my laptop and text books with me. I would tell you that I am taking a much need break from studying and then when you leave I will hit the books again.

I would begin by ordering a pumpkin spice latte with an extra shot of espresso and say please distract me from my homework! Yes, we would be meeting at Starbucks, they have pumpkin spice now right?

I would begin by saying that although I have been taking classes for two years straight that we are now down to the hard stuff and to say I am counting down the classes would be an understatement! There is several people from my work that are in the same class so it helps to know someone is in the same boat.

I would also tell you that the girls have been in school for two weeks now and it is going great! The kindergartener has been plum exhausted and we are doing good to get her a bath before she passes out on the couch.  The second grader starts art lessons next week which she is super excited about.

I would tell you that we have been back and forth about whether or not to meet with a counselor for 2nd grader and decided to bite the bullet and meet with her. She put all our fears at ease and very well thinks that her behaviors could be physiological versus mental. She has had constipation her entire life and she explained how those kids can anger easily and become emotional as they eventually regulate their bowels they have a feeling of loss of control.

She meets with her on Friday so we will know more after that. I hesitated to make the appointment because mostly she is a happy, normal kid but has trouble explaining her feelings. The hubby does not think that this is necessary but at the same time we both do not want to assume anything.

I would take a deep breath and tell you that I have fallen off the weight watchers band wagon and have gained every pound that I lost. It is quite depressing but I am going to get back on because I can feel the difference from when I eat healthy versus eating the junk food. I feel tired, cranky and run down again and need that to go away pronto!

My kindergartener is having a birthday Sunday and my normally well planned ahead self has not prepared for it! it will all be last-minute this year, but we are also going to have a small and simple party at home. She chose and Ariel theme so that will be the theme of her cake this year!

I would tell you that although I love my new job, it has been a little stressful lately and I hope that the chaos comes to an end soon. My new job has been my saving grace as I am able to better balance work, family and school.

I would ask you to tell me what’s going on in your life and then go on to study for my quiz tomorrow. I would tell you thank you for meeting me for coffee and please for my sanity’s sake let’s do it again next week!

I am a wife of ten years, mom of three, Nurse and student! My household is quite chaotic and busy. With a six year old going on sixteen. we shall call her "Sassy", a four year old, who is stubborn as a mule, she shall be called " mini me", and a one year old, we will call "Buddy". Our girls do Ballet, and our son, well he is all boy! Very curious and always getting in to something. When we found out we were having a boy i laughed and said " god must have known we needed a little less diva in our life," Ha, little boys are quite the handful! I love my kids with all of my heart, and i love my job too! As a nurse leader i get to see many sides to healthcare and help encourage and guide new nurses. I love taking care of patients and being able to have grown up talk and then come home to my babies. The house is usually chaotic with lots of tantrums, and messes, but i wouldn't change it for a bit. On the rare occasion that i am able to have some spare time to myself, i like to read, bake and decorate cakes, and take pictures of my kiddos. Time to myself is rare so i decided to start this blog to have a creative outlet and connect with other working moms, who might be going through the same situations as myself. I hope you enjoy my thoughts and stories as a mom, student, wife and Nurse! These stories will range from Diapers and tutus to meetings and boardrooms! and everything that falls in between. Enjoy and thanks for visiting my site.

  1. I think you are doing the right thing having the 2nd Grader see the counselor. You would kick yourself later if you didn’t do it and should have. At least this way you can give it a go and see if it is needed and then rethink it, if necessary. Good for you! Have a super week!

    1. yes, that is the conclusion that we came up with. Better to gothrough with it and not need it, than to need it and never done it. Thanks for reading 🙂

  2. Gosh, I do not miss school in the least. Hope your studying goes well—I remember those days all too well.

Sorry to hear that you’re going through some difficulty with your 2nd grader, but so glad to hear how supportive of her you’re being. My Little Jedi has trouble with constipation and such, too, but we haven’t noticed that leading to other behaviors—will have to be on the lookout.

    1. Thank you! For Brooklyn I think it truly is a control issue, there isn’t much she can control but that one thing and that build up can cause tension and anger so we will see what we find out, we may be going to a counselor just to get referred to a GI specialist, who knows! Thanks for reading and hosting 🙂

      1. Yeah, Little Jedi’s issues are mostly physical rather than control-caused, but there’s still a bit of that involved. Hoping for some answers that help you guys out soon. 🙂

  3. I’m glad you have some answers for your little one. I’m also glad you are able to access support like that.
I really hope your kindergartener has a great birthday. 😀

  4. Oh, your post comes at a perfect time for me – yes, please! Would’ve loved to join you for a coffee and take some time off caring for sick and cranky kids! I’ve been alone with them for 4 weeks now, while the husband is already in UK and we’re still in CZ.. Glad to hear your kids are enjoying the beginning of the school year – will also have to face that as soon as we move, no idea how that will go. Good luck with your studies! They’re bound to finish sooner or later, right? 😉

    1. Ooh now that school has started I am waiting for the shoe to drop and have the sickies! Maybe we will bypass that for a bit! I am sure hoping school ends soon lol! Nine more classes to go 😉

  5. If it helps, I planned my 3-year-olds birthday this summer one week out and all was well. Bouncy castle helped – but her couple little friends came – as did family – and all was well. Happy birthday to your youngest!

And hope everything sorts out with your eldest. We went through a constipation year with my eldest – though it was related to toilet training, so different than with you. But it’s difficult to deal with, see them in pain, and not know how to help – so it sounds like you made the right decision here! – Good luck!

      1. Oh no 😦 I have not so fond memories of the year we struggled with our 3-year-old with that – sneaking fibre into everything, encouraging fruit and fluids and random baths to relax etc… I was so happy when she got over that stage. I wish you both every success!
