Because sometimes kids are embarrassing

You know us parenting bloggers like to share funny things our kids do or say. Sometimes we share a weekly things my kid said post. You wanna know a secret? Sometimes my kids do stuff that embarrass the crap out of me! I know.. I know.. I should be the one embarrassing them! So without further ado, I give you the things my kids did to embarrass me this week!

Setting: Physician waiting room full of people

4yo grabs hold of my boob and continues to sit there and hold it. Seriously, this kid was never even breast-fed, He has no claim to that body part! the more i tried to move his hand away without making a scene, the more he laughed and kept trying to hold my boob! Naturally i blame his father for his boob obsession.

Setting: Michaels craft store

9yo- EEWWW! What is that smell?

7yo-oh right! I had gas! ( stating this as loud as she can)

9yo- Gross! Mama! she farted!!! ( again yelling at the top of her lungs as I could not hear or smell the situation at hand!)

Sigh, I guess  i will just have to take pleasure in the knowledge that i will get to pay them back for all these embarrassing moments one day! What has your child done to embarrass you lately?

I am a wife of ten years, mom of three, Nurse and student! My household is quite chaotic and busy. With a six year old going on sixteen. we shall call her "Sassy", a four year old, who is stubborn as a mule, she shall be called " mini me", and a one year old, we will call "Buddy". Our girls do Ballet, and our son, well he is all boy! Very curious and always getting in to something. When we found out we were having a boy i laughed and said " god must have known we needed a little less diva in our life," Ha, little boys are quite the handful! I love my kids with all of my heart, and i love my job too! As a nurse leader i get to see many sides to healthcare and help encourage and guide new nurses. I love taking care of patients and being able to have grown up talk and then come home to my babies. The house is usually chaotic with lots of tantrums, and messes, but i wouldn't change it for a bit. On the rare occasion that i am able to have some spare time to myself, i like to read, bake and decorate cakes, and take pictures of my kiddos. Time to myself is rare so i decided to start this blog to have a creative outlet and connect with other working moms, who might be going through the same situations as myself. I hope you enjoy my thoughts and stories as a mom, student, wife and Nurse! These stories will range from Diapers and tutus to meetings and boardrooms! and everything that falls in between. Enjoy and thanks for visiting my site.

  1. Our kids are grown, but here’s a blast from the past: I’d been reading Madeline quite a bit with our four-year-old. While in line at the grocery store she asked, quite loudly, “Mama, when at you sending me back to boarding school?” The shocked glares of the shoppers near us we’re so funny, but it was still embarrassing!

  2. Ah! We too are at the “farts are funny!” stage of childhood. And butts. Saying butt. Soooo funny. Specifically? Chicken butt. High humour here too!

  3. Well, this brought up an embarrassing memory situation for me. We kept our “bad” words under control. One time we were out to dinner in a regular restaurant and our oldest (about 3 at the time) picked up his utensils and banged them on the table repeating “damn, damn”. OH MY! Where did he learn that word? I suppose I wasn’t that great at keeping my bad words inside. I believe our kids grew up to believe every dog was named Damn Dog. We had many, many talks regarding appropriate language after that.

  4. Ha Ha..this reminds me of my little one when she was a year old. I stood in the queue at a counter in a supermarket , she in one hand as I pulled onto the shopping trolley with the other. It was when the woman before me glared back at me that I noticed that my little one was busy pulling at the string tied around her neck that actually held the dress together. I ( and she) was lucky that she noticed that it had come undone as soon as it was 😉
